The 8th Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG-8) serves as the third fleet’s principal amphibious and planetary assault element. Operating under the authority of the third fleet’s Command, ESG-2 integrates naval, marine, and aviation assets into a single, cohesive force capable of projecting UEE power across any environment — from orbit to ground.
Composed of the 7th Marine Combat Battalion, 7th Combat Logistics Battalion, and 2nd Marine Air Wing, the Strike Group represents the cutting edge of expeditionary warfare within the United Empire of Earth Navy. Its purpose is to seize, secure, and sustain objectives in hostile or contested systems, enabling follow-on forces to establish enduring presence and stability operations.
The 8th Expeditionary Strike Group is trained for rapid deployment and independent operation in austere or contested regions. It bridges the gap between orbital supremacy and ground dominance, delivering full-spectrum combat power wherever the 12th Battle Group is called to fight.
