U.E.E.S Hood [IDRIS-p]U.E.E.S Hood [IDRIS-p]
The U.E.E.S. Hood is an Idris-P class frigate of the United Earth Empire Navy, a vessel whose history is as storied as it is hard-fought. Once an older model, she was mothballed for decades, a relic of a previous era left to rest in quiet retirement.
In 2955, she was reactivated—not as a frontline combatant, but as a training ship and testbed for experimental techniques. Outdated, undergunned, and overshadowed by her modern counterparts, Hood was never expected to see true battle again.
But fate had other designs. Ordered into service with little warning, she was subjected to a complete retrofit—modernized weapons, upgraded shields, and reinforced hull systems bringing her up to fleet standards. Her first deployment came almost immediately after her christening, when she was dispatched into the Pyro system to intercept a massive pirate fleet gathering strength. Against all odds, Hood and her crew prevailed. In their first action, the ship’s main gunner scored 37 confirmed kills, turning the tide of battle and cementing Hood’s reputation as a ship reborn in fire.
The name Hood carries a weight of history and memory that spans centuries. She is named after the HMS Hood, a British battlecruiser commissioned in 1921, known as the Pride of the Fleet and hailed by Americans as the Monarch of the Seas. For two decades, HMS Hood was a global symbol—not merely of naval might, but of beauty, pride, and the camaraderie of those who served aboard her.
In the modern age, the U.E.E.S. Hood carries forward that same legacy. Once overlooked, she has risen from obscurity to become a living emblem of resilience. Within the 12th Battle Group, she serves as a reminder that ships are more than steel and circuits—they are homes, symbols, and guardians of their crews.
